Links with Other Unitarians
Cardiff Unitarians are part of the South East Wales Unitarian Society which consists of chapels in Aberdare, Cefncoed Y Cymmer, Wick, Nottage, Swansea, Trebanos and Gellionen. A district rally is held every Summer for all the churches in the district and other district services are held throughout the year such as for Christmas. (Link to district website.)
Services are sometimes held throughout the district especially for families and children and different chapels have taken turns to host this. Cardiff Unitarians have hosted a Children and Family service at Penrhiw chapel at the Museum of Welsh Life at St. Fagans. The National Unitarian Youth Officer has helped run day courses for adults and children in the district. Children from the district are able to attend national events for children and young people such as Great Hucklow in Derbyshire which is a residential venue run by Unitarians.
The Welsh department acts as a link between the two district associations in Wales. Cardiff Unitarians/Undodiaid Caerdydd are part of South East Wales Unitarian Society which is one of these district associations.
All Unitarians from different congregations are invited to attend the General Assembly Meeting held once a year. These have been held in venues such as the University of Chester or University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield. This is an opportunity to meet other Unitarians from all over the United Kingdom for meetings, services and workshops.
Please see the General Assembly website for information on many different National Unitarian groups such as the Music Society, Earth-Spirit Network and Meditation group. There is also a group for younger Unitarians called BUYAN for the 18 to 35 year age group.
Unitarians in the United Kingdom also have links internationally to such countries as the USA, Germany, France, India, Romania and Transylvania.
